Fruits is our most advanced module.
It lasts a day, tastes 17 wines, and gives participants the tools to understand every major grape variety, major regions, as well as an in-depth look at the sales and service process to not only perfect it themselves but also to train a team.
A module dedicated to wine service, food and wine pairing and key upselling techniques, suitable for those who already have a basic understanding.
Shoots is a more involved course that assumes a level of understanding of how wine is made. It focusses much more on the journey of service, as well as understanding the structural elements of wine and how these relate to food and wine pairing.
It lasts 90 minutes, tastes six-eight wines, and, upon completion, participants should be able to capably describe quality markers, demonstrate good bottle handling etiquette and make pertinent pairing suggestions with explanations of why. The course finishes with an upselling activity with a discussion of good sales questions.
A basic intro to how wines are made, how they taste and how to recommend them.
Roots is an entry-level course aimed at those who have never had any formal wine training before. It explains what wine is, how it is made, why it tastes the way it does and gives a gentle introduction into commercially relevant language for recommending wines.
It lasts 90 minutes, tastes six-eight wines, and, upon completion, participants should be able to recommend wines on the list using three or four key descriptors that they decide on during the session, as well as understand what quality means in a wine with a view to upselling.
